LibDem Priorities for Thanet

I shall strive to help repair Thanet’s long-standing socio-economic issues, attract higher-paying jobs, rejuvenate our port, Winter Gardens and airport, to rebuild a prosperous Thanet, rather than just build over it!

Improve joined-up thinking at a local and national level on key Thanet issues e.g. push for local transportation improvements, while ensuring any affordable new builds are primarily offered to Thanet residents

Support opening more urgent treatment centres, medical services, GP, and Dental surgeries

Control legal and illegal immigration with strategies consistent with British values.

Fair deal for working families

Ensure working families on moderate incomes who do not qualify for the benefits system also get a Fair Deal

Stand up for carers’ rights and the vulnerable

Cleaning up Thanet

Help overhaul the waste disposal and recycling systems to improve cleanliness of our streets and beaches

Regenerate Thanet's businesses

Encourage businesses offering higher wages (e.g. related to wind farms and their maintenance) to move to Thanet and East Kent’s existing industrial estates
